Graduating graphic design at the Utrecht School of the Arts - HKU in the late 90's, I had rolled into early multimedia design. CD-Roms and the likes where still 'the thing' back then.
Roaming around, working for various companies I got asked to fill a spot at Dutch TV station Veronica. During an internship at VPRO's 'Villa Achterwerk' in my study years, my love for linear animation and videographics got sparked, so it was quite a no-brainer to say 'yes' to the opportunity. Hilversum was where I got to know the people and learn the tricks of the trade. In 1999 it was time to take the plunge and start my own business, so I did. You might know me from way back when I went by the name of Benhur (which was my first jobs' email nickname).
Since then I have had the pleasure to work with, and for, various media and clients, commercial, cultural and non-profit.
2012 it was time for a re-branding, I felt the need to create some 'distance' between my birth given name and my moniker. My passion for nature and the outdoors led to the name Studio Forest. Still working on show-openings, animations, explainimations and the likes, I refound the buzz for bold cartoony graphics, which found it's way into excistence in my apparel shop.
A lot of things actually, the portfolio on this site is just a small selection of what I did over the last few years. Although I'm moving my focus more & more towards bold graphics for prints etc, I'm still keyframing animations, cutting up video, wrestle with explainimations, show openings, title sequences, flyers, booklets and other various graphic design for clients big and small. As long as we are on the same level and communicate in the same frequency, we'll be in for a good ride from start to finish.
